About me: The name's Crystal. I'm a female-identifying pansexual with a whole lot of love to give. My love affair with red velvet cake is the stuff of legends. Life goals? Steven Moffat is so sexist.
The way none of his female characters can defend themselves
none of them are smart
and they all rely on their sexuality to get stuff done.

- okay so here’s the thing right about amy pond
- when amy pond was a child her parents were murdered by a creature living in her house that she didn’t know about
- that accessed her house by going through a hole in the fabric of the universe that she also didn’t know about
- which…

Steven Moffat in an interview, sitting right next to Karen Gillan. (via stfu-moffat)
Because GOD FORBID she be slightly chubby. God forbid she be anything other than perfect. Because it’s not like Karen Gillan could have provided the same performance if she were slightly bigger and shorter. Noooo. Having a little bit of fat on your body makes you a terrible actor. Everybody knows that.

(via feministinthetardis)
It’s interesting how much of his opinion of her as suitable for the part is based on her body. If she’s short/chubby, she’s unsuitable, even though she’s a really good actress. If she’s tall, she’s suitable for the part, and her acting doesn’t seem to come into it. But she’s actually too tall for the part, so really Steven Moffat is really open-minded and isn’t prejudiced about women’s looks, because he cast her EVEN THOUGH she’s too tall for the part.
(via babblegirl)
“It’s a shame she’s so wee and dumpy” is only the beginning of the offensive here. Not only does he discount her if she’s too short or has a little weight, if she’s too tall, she’s ALSO inferior, because God forbid you have to look up to a woman. A beachball? I don’t even describe people I don’t like in those terms. And he says it to her face. I’m sure it was all “ahaha how funny” but anyone saying “damn you looked dumpy in preview” is really offensive.

Another thing that is rustling my fucking jimmies about the way Louise Brealey and Moffat/Vertue have behaved/are behaving with regard to Elementary:
I have zero problems with celebrities being outspoken about things they have legit concerns about. Dom Monaghan publically…

What if we got Mary in Sherlock season three. What if we got Mary and she was:
- a woman of color
- a well-rounded, interesting character in her own right, because of who she is and not how she interacts with John and Sherlock
- a character that we…
